Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy was on “NFL Am” Monday morning to discuss Sunday’s NFC Championship Game game between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers.

Yahoo Sports has the video, but the highlight is Hardy, after being asked to compare trying to tackle Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson with trying to tackle running back Marshawn Lynch, calling Lynch “Kraken Jr.”

For those unaware, Hardy called himself “Kraken” during a promo earlier this year. (He also said he graduated from Hogwarts.) When asked about the nickname and choice of school a few days later, he had this to say:

"I can do whatever I want. I’m the Kraken. If you feel like you can ask the Kraken personally where he goes to school at, and prove me wrong, then I feel like I’ll change it."

I’m pretty sure Hardy granting someone else “Kraken” status is just about the highest praise said person can achieve. While it certainly won’t replace “Beast Mode” as Lynch’s nickname, it’s a nice gesture of respect on the part of Hardy.
