As the final adjustments are made to the 2014 Pro Bowl roster ahead of the start of the inaugural player draft on Tuesday night, Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Jordan Gross has learned that he will be replacing 49ers left tackle Joe Staley.

The news comes from Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.

Staley pulled out of this weekend’s game in Hawaii due to an injury.

Gross becomes the seventh Panthers player to be named to the Pro Bowl, joining quarterback Cam Newton, fullback Mike Tolbert, centerRyan Kalil, middle linebacker Luke Kuechly, defensive end Greg Hardy and long snapper J.J. Jansen.

Ron Rivera and the Panthers coaching staff will also be at the Pro Bowl coaching the team selected by Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, so it will be interesting to see if Rice goes heavy with his selection of Panthers players because of their relationship with Rivera.
