The Senior Bowl is always a great opportunity for prospects to make a lasting impression in front of scouts and talent evaluators form each NFL team and raise their NFL draft stock with a good week of practice and a strong game.

One of this year’s top performers is without a doubt Fresno State Bulldogs quarterback Derek Carr who is the ‘most impressive quarterback in Mobile, Al this week, according to NFL Network’s Charles Davis.

"“There were doubts about his arm strength coming into the week and I think he’s done a lot to put those concerns to rest. A lot of his throws at Fresno State were for 10-12 yards or fewer, but I have no questions at all about his arm strength. He will get the ball downfield, and he’ll do it accurately. The quarterbacks here had to battle heavy wind gusts earlier in the week, and I was really impressed with how his throws looked in those conditions. He did a nice job of cutting through it.”"

Davis is not alone in his praise for the 6-3, 218-pound quarterback who led Fresno State to an 11-win season that saw him throw for more than 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns to lead the nation by a wide margin in both categories.

In fact, no other quarterback had more than 40 touchdowns, but still questions remained about his game and if he could move into the first round discussion.

Lastly, Carr showcased his athleticism and ability to throw on the run and as pointed out by NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, he scored some points with evaluators by spending extra time working with his receivers following the end of practice.

It may be premature to suggest Carr merits first round consideration, but one thing is clear that Carr has momentum heading into Saturday’s game where he will need to show he can handle pressure, but has his draft stock pointed in the right direction which you can’t say the same for some of the other high-profile quarterbacks in attendance.
