Panthers S Charles Godfrey has $125,000 worth of watches stolen
By Josh Sanchez
Carolina Panthers safety Charles Godfrey missed a majority of the season with a torn Achilles tendon, but things are getting even worse for Godfrey as he recovers. According to Cleve Wootson of the Charlotte Observer, Godfrey had $125,000 worth of watches stolen from his home in uptown Charlotte.
The police report states that Godfrey was set to have two watches delivered at his home (one valued at $50,000, the other at $75,000), but he never received them despite FedEx saying they had been delivered.
It is a pretty nice score for the person or FedEx driver who snagged those boxes, but let’s hope they get found so Godfrey can wear something worth most American households yearly salary around his wrist.
To make matters ever worse for Godfrey is the fact that he could be released in the offseason.
With the Panthers up against the salary cap and the success the team had without Godfrey, there is a real change that his cap figure could lead towards him being a cap casualty.
