NBA Rumors: Dwyane Wade may opt-out of contract at end of season

There are a lot of questions floating around about the Miami Heat, mainly about what will happen to the Big 3 this offseason. any are fearing that LeBron James will opt-out of his deal and leave Miami and already it seems that players may be ready to make sacrifices to ensure that doesn’t happen.

Dwyane Wade took a paycut the first time around to make sure that the Heat landed LeBron James and Chris Bosh and Ira Winderman of the Orlando Sentinel thinks it might happen again. Winderman states Wade could end up opting out of his contract at the end of the season so that he can rework his deal to afford Miami more money to either extend LeBron James or bring in players that will make him want to stay.

"LeBron wasn’t getting the needed support in his previous stops. But there also will be ways for Dwyane to ease the burden on a re-signed LeBron, perhaps instead of taking the $40 million due over the two seasons after this, to instead opt out and take $60 million over five, ease his cap and tax hit. Of course, it’s easy to talk about someone else taking such a severe salary hit."

It wouldn’t be shocking to see Wade sacrifice a few million dollars to make sure that this whole Big 3 thing doesn’t end before he’s ready for it to.
