Dallas Stars Sign Left Wing Ryan Garbutt to a Three-Year Extension
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced earlier today via the team’s official website that the organization has reached an agreement with left wing Ryan Garbutt that will see him in a Dallas Stars uniform for an additional three years.
In the release, Nill praised Garbutt for his work ethic and spoke on his effectiveness as a player.
"“Ryan has shown that he is an effective, hard-hitting forward that plays the game with a great deal of speed and tenacity,” Nill said. “Over the course of the season, he has earned the trust of his coaching staff and has played himself into a role where we ask him to play against our opponent’s top players on a nightly basis. It’s a great credit to the work he has put in and we’re excited to have him signed.”"
This is the 6 foot tall 190 pound winger is currently in his third season with the Dallas Stars. This season, he has played a record 46 games with the team. In that time, he has scored 10 goals and 8 assists for a total of 18 points to go along with his plus-4 rating.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was originally signed by the Dallas Stars as a Free Agent on July 1, 2011. Since then, he has appeared in 102 games with the organization, scoring 15 goals and 16 assists for a total of 31 points.
As per team policy, the specific details of Garbutt’s extension were not made public.
