Explosion in Manhattan after Super Bowl 48

As fans were leaving MetLife Stadium on Sunday night and working their way back to New York City or wherever they called home, streets were being filled with thousands of people who were out to celebrate or sulk as a result of the final score.

With so many people out on the streets, there were numerous witnesses for an alleged explosion in midtown Manhattan that occurred shortly after the Super Bowl came to an end.

There was obvious reason for some immediate concern as people took to social media, but the explosions were reportedly underground manhole explosions and the police and fire departments are on the scene to sort out the issue. The good news is that everyone seems to be unharmed and reports indicate it may have been a gas line from Hell’s Kitchen that caused the issue.
