The NBA All-Star Weekend is almost upon us which means the competitions over that weekend are starting to fill out. Today we learned that the Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo would be participating in the Skills Competition and we also learned that Portland Trail Blazers stud Damian Lillard would be in as many as five competitions.

We also have learned who will be in the Slam Dunk Contest as the roster of NBA stars has been announced. For once, the league has grabbed some of the game’s brightest stars at the moment, as opposed to the previous method of grabbing rising stars.

Paul George from the Indiana Pacers, John Wall from the Washington Wizards, Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers, Ben McLemore from the Sacramento Kings, Harrison Barnes from the Golden State Warriors and defending champion Terrence Ross from the Toronto Raptors have all been confirmed as participating in the Slam Dunk event this year.

Fans may now finally become even more invested in the competition as the event will have some of the biggest names in the game today. LeBron James remains a hold out, but considering not many people can remember who Terrence Ross went up against in last year’s final, this year’s crop is perhaps the best we could have hoped for.
