The Indiana Pacers surprised a lot of people when they signed free agent Andrew Bynum last weekend as they had seemingly pulled out of the sweepstakes just prior. But now that Bynum is on roster, many fans and analysts are wondering what will happen to him next, as a clear strategy on how to use the big man was never laid out.

Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports reports that Bynum is expected to make his Pacers debut after the All-Star break this weekend.

"New center Andrew Bynum is expected to debut after the All-Star break, a source said."

Mostly everyone expects Bynum’s sole purpose on the Pacers’ roster to be for use in the playoffs — specifically against the Miami Heat. But it looks like we will see at least a little of Bynum in the regular season. It makes sense that the Pacers would want to test Bynum out in the regular season to sort of get him worked in, but his main purpose will be for the postseason, regardless of whether he’s making his debut after the All-Star break or not.
