The Kansas City Chiefs will have to decide what to do with starting left tackle Branden Albert once he hits free agency in March, but it doesn’t appear that he will be returning to town.

610 Sports Radio in Kansas City reports the Chiefs plan to let Albert walk in free agency and they will give no thought to re-signing him.

The news doesn’t come as a big surprise, considering the Chiefs attempted to trade him this past offseason and eventually used the No. 1 overall pick on offensive tackle Eric Fisher, but there will be plenty of teams looking to bolster their offensive line.

One obvious connection would be the Miami Dolphins, who reportedly engaged deep in trade talks with the Chiefs.

Eventually, Miami pulled out of the discussions, but now they would be able to sign him without having to give up at least a second round pick as compensation.
