The All-Star game is this weekend and New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is going to be there. He’s going tone there along with  some of the best players in the NBA, many of whom may want to play with him next year and many of whom he may want to have in New York.

But while it’s the perfect opportunity to do some recruiting both ways, Carmelo says the weekend will be all about fun and not about recruiting for next season.

Per Fred Kerber of the New York Post:

"“I think All-Star weekend is just a time where you can relax, decompress, kind of reflect on the first half of the season and gear up for the second half of the season,” Anthony said, noting tales of recruiting “as always, as always” are blown out of proportion. “As far as recruiting and things like that, that never happens.”"

Knicks fans may want to have Carmelo recruiting a star this weekend but fans of other teams may want their star player recruiting Melo. While the topic will likely be discussed behind the scenes, it sounds like Melo isn’t ready to think about the major decision that awaits him this offseason.
