The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching and some teams are looking to make moves that will secure their chances at being a contender. Last year, the Golden State Warriors were the darlings of the Western Conference, but fell short of a title appearance.
This year they seem poised to make a run again but likely won’t make it far without a trade. That’s the thinking of the front office at least, as ESPN.com insider Chad Ford suggests that the team needs to make a few more trades before they will feel comfortable with their title chances.
"If they are thinking long-term, they’d probably be better off standing pat. But if this has to be the year, then I think they need a few more pieces. I know they’d love to get an athletic, shot blocking big man."
There will be a lot that happens between now and the deadline, but it appears the Warriors may be more active than we think, with the only question being how much would they be willing to give up for their missing piece?
