The San Antonio Spurs are the fourth best team in basketball, still many are starting to claim that they need to make a deal at the deadline to avoid hitting the old man hump in the playoffs. Folks tend to forget that these group of senior basketball citizens came within mere seconds of winning an NBA title last year and a  return trip to the Finals is very much in the cards.

Rumors that the team wold trade Kawhi Leonard have begun to disturb the fan base, but Bill Ingram from Basketball Insiders is here to calm the masses. As Ingram so rightly points out, the trade rumors about Evan Turner landing in San Antonio really hold no merit as the Spurs can’t compete with other offers on the table.

"What no one will stipulate to is what San Antonio would send to Philly. The Spurs don’t have what the Sixers are looking for, namely a quality first round pick. They could send an ending contract, but the Sixers already have that with Turner."

Additionally, the Bobcats are rumored to be offering Ben Gordon and a first-round draft pick, which is something that would blow the Spurs away. San Antonio doesn’t need to make a trade and if it comes down to trading Kawhi Leonard or standing pat with what they have, the Spurs are going to stand pat.
