Bubba Watson carded a final round 64 at the Northern Trust Open to win by two strokes over Dustin Johnson.  Watson went bogey-less on the weekend, and finished at 15-under par.

Watson began the weekend eight shots behind the 36-hole leader, Sang-Moon Bae, and fired a 64 on Saturday to move into a tie for sixth place at eight-under par.  On Sunday, Watson captured the lead with a birdie on the eighth hole, and did not relinquish it.  Watson’s play on the weekend was virtually flawless with 14 birdies and no bogies.

Watson said it doesn’t feel like two years since his last victory at the 2012 Masters, “It doesn’t feel like two years, no, because my son, I can’t believe we were talking about it the other day, that he’s about to be two years old.  Just seems like yesterday where he couldn’t walk, and now he’s running and talking and eating chocolate and running around.”

Dustin Johnson also made a charge up the leaderboard shooting a five-under 66, but he came up just short on the last few holes.  Johnson finished in second place for the second straight week (T2 at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am).

Will McGirt, the overnight leader, birdied the first hole, but made bogies on the second, ninth, and sixteenth holes to shoot a final round 73.  McGirt finished tied for sixth place at ten-under total.

Jason Allred and Brian Harman were paired with Watson in the final round, and  both shot three-under 68s to finish tied for third place. The top-ten allows Allred, who does not have status on the PGA Tour, to play in the Honda Classic in a couple weeks.  Harman now has three top tens this season.

Charl Schwartzel shot a final round 68 to finish in solo fifth place at eleven-under total.

Jordan Spieth was in contention early, but fell off the pace with bogies on 12, 14, and 15.  Spieth finished T12 at eight-under total.
