The Houston Rockets are starting to really turn a corner this season and are hoping the second half of their year is filled with wild success that hopefully ends with a championship. One of the first pieces of this current team that the Rockets front office put together was James Harden, and the star guard has some words for those forgetting about him when it comes time to name the best players in the game today.
Harden spoke over the weekend with Shandel Richardson of the Sun Sentinel and stated that he belongs on the list of the Top 10 current NBA players, but his omission is what it is.
"“It is what it is,” Harden said. “[Durant] knows what he’s talking about.”“I don’t even know who was on the list,” Harden said. “I don’t really care about that list. I go out there and play basketball and do my best. I’ll let you guys talk about that.”"
Harden was referring to a quote from former teammate Kevin Durant, who stated in September that Harden was a top 10 player, even if people wanted to count him out. Harden is more concerned with his magnificent beard and the Rockets winning a title than he is being on a top 10 list, but it’s clear he knows how valuable he is to the Rockets.
