Los Angeles Clippers’ J.J. Redick won’t play Tuesday
When the Los Angeles Clippers host the San Antonio Spurs in a huge Western Conference showdown Tuesday night, they will be without guard J.J. Redick.
“J.J.’s out today and at least probably until the Memphis game [on Friday],” Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers told Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles. “He saw the doctor today but we’ll see.”
It will be the fifth consecutive game Redick will miss because of a sore hip.
The Clippers had hoped the extra rest during the All-Star break would be enough time off for Redick to return to practice Monday and play on Tuesday, but clearly that wasn’t the case.
Redick, who was acquired in a sign-and-trade in the offseason, has played in just 30 of the Clippers’ 55 games due to various injuries.
When Redick has played, he’s been very good. He’s averaging 15.7 points, 2.2 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game.
