Los Angeles Lakers’ power forward Pau Gasol, who just wants to get the next two days over with, has recently looked like he will remain in Los Angeles throughout the season.
According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, sourcing NBA executives, that isn’t the case.
Rival executives believe the Lakers and Suns will resume trade talks, with Pau Gasol ultimately being traded to Phoenix.

The executives believe Pau Gasol is the best player Phoenix can realistically get for Emeka Okafor's insured, expiring contract.

They believe L.A. will deal Gasol rather than lose him in summer. Gasol has been looking into FA destinations and is expected to leave L.A.

The Suns would surprisingly be a playoff team right now and if all it takes to land Gasol is Okafor’s contract, why wouldn’t the Suns make a move? It wouldn’t hurt their future, cap-wise and would help them compete to win a first round playoff series.
Gasol is having another excellent season, averaging 17.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game this season.
