The NBA trade deadline is approaching rapidly and that means teams are going to continue kicking the tires on trades that could be made before the deadline passes. Two teams that routinely kick the tires this time of year are the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.

Alex Kennedy from Basketball Insiders reports that league sources informed him both teams will be at it again this year, waving their tin can of change at all passersby to see of a trade is possible.

Both teams have been rooted in trade rumors for the last few weeks with the Rockets being more talked about than the Mavericks. Still, the Mavericks need rim protection in the postseason to match their great offensive attack while the Rockets are just looking to deal someone to stay fresh.

Neither team is a lock to make a move, but if they stand pat it won’t be for a lack of trying.
