There was some big news surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that was announced on Tuesday morning. According to Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Buccaneers defensive tackle Warren Sapp, the team will be getting a new helmet for the 2014-15 NFL season.

Not only will the helmet be different, but it will feature a new logo as well.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times passed along the news.

What will be interesting to see is whether or not the change will also result in new uniforms or a new color scheme for the team.

The throwback creamsicle jerseys were not able to be busted out this season because of the NFL’s new helmet policy that does not allow teams to use alternate helmets, so perhaps the team decided to go with a new design that would also allow them to wear their vintage uniforms in the seasons ahead.

Whatever the change turns out to be, it is always exciting to see what teams come up with when they make a uniform change.

The team’s new helmet and logo will be revealed Thursday night on the NFL Network.
