2014 NFL Scouting Combine: QB Teddy Bridgewater weighs in at 214 pounds
By Jack Crosby
Despite being seen by some as the unquestioned number one overall pick in this May’s NFL Draft, there have still been some knocks on former Louisville Cardinals QB Teddy Bridgewater. One of the negatives that were talked about was his lack of bulk as he played near the 196-pound range while in college.
At the weigh ins on Friday at the Scouting Combine, Bridgewater may have destroyed that narrative as he weighed in at much higher than 196, coming in at 214-pounds to go along with his 6-foot-2 frame.
This is great news for the hopes of Teddy B as he aims to possibly be the next franchise quarterback of the Houston Texans. His brain is already the perfect fit for new head coach, and renowned quarterback guru, Bill O’Brien, and now he has the prototypical size to go along with the rest of his tools.
It’ll be interesting to see going forward now how other teams view this turn of events, because his size was one question mark that was consistently brought up.
