While they were rumored to be after some big names in the trade market on Thursday, the Charlotte Bobcats ultimately settled on trading for Milwaukee Bucks veterans Luke Ridnour and Gary Neal at the deadline. While they both were solid pickups, many were left wondering what happened to the Evan Turner talks that seemed like they were heating up late in the process.

According to Bobcats beat writer Rick Bonnell, Charlotte’s missing out on Turner had nothing to do with them being rejected by the Philadelphia 76ers, rather it was the Bobcats who lost interest in a trade first.

Charlotte still came out alright after the deadline and Turner ended up getting moved to the Indiana Pacers in a surprise trade. Still, the Bobcats losing interest in Turner before the deadline shows that while they want to win, they aren’t going to overpay to get a guy they didn’t covet that much.
