Some teams are heading into the upcoming free agency period ready to spend some serious cash. The Oakland Raiders, for example, have over $60 million in cap space and plan on using most of it to lure in the likes of jared Allen. Eric Decker, B.J. Raji and others.

The New Orleans Saints have some cap space but they aren’t going to be spending hardly any of it this offseason. The team is looking for ways to give Jimmy Graham a long-term deal and that means the spending will be at a minimum for the Saints — but not nonexistent.

Per ESPN.com:

"I don’t think the Saints will spend the megabucks that it will take to sign one of the elite free-agent cornerbacks that you mentioned. But I definitely think that will be their No. 1 free-agent priority, and they could target someone in the next tier. The dream scenario would be hitting another home run like they did with Keenan Lewis last year and Jabari Greer in 2009."

New Orleans may spend on a lower rung starter, but they won’t be shooting for the moon. If they do go after someone, don’t expect it to lead to a bidding war as any team bidding up the Saints this offseason will just be bidden up themselves.
