Orlando Magic’s Arron Afflalo out again Tuesday against Washington Wizards
Orlando Magic swingman Arron Afflalo injured his ankle late in the Magic’s 129-121 double overtime victory over the New York Knicks on Friday.
In the game, Afflalo played 43 minutes. He scored 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field, a perfect four-of-four shooting from beyond the arc and six-of-nine shooting from the free throw line.
The ankle injury forced Afflalo to miss the Magic’s 105-90 loss to the Toronto Raptors Sunday evening and will keep him out of the Magic’s game in Washington, D.C. against the Wizards Tuesday night. Afflalo did not even make the trip.
With the buyout of Glen “Big Baby” Davis, Tobias Harris movied to power forward and Afflalo slid to small forward to allow rookie Victor Oladipo to start at shooting guard.
Second-year forward Maurice Harkless started in Afflalo’s place. He had two points and two rebounds in 28 minutes.
Center Nikola Vucevic and point guard Jameer Nelson, who is also nursing an injury, will round out the starting lineup.
On the season, Afflalo is averaging 19.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He’s shooting 47.0% from the field, 43.8% from three-point range and 81.7% from the charity stripe.
