It looks like defensive end DeMarcus Ware’s time with the Dallas Cowboys, the only franchise he has played for, could be coming to an end. Last night a report from Howard Eskin said Ware is refusing to take a pay cut as the team tries to restructure his contract.

With that and the Cowboys desperate need for cap space, Ware is scheduled to count for $16 million against the cap next season, the veteran looked destined to be a cap casualty. Now NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that there is no communication between the team and Ware.
Jerry Jones told SportsCenter DeMarcus Ware could be cut. Dallas hasn’t asked Ware to take a pay cut yet. No communication between parties

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones hinted that Ware’s time with the Cowboys could be coming to an end.
“He’s had a tough time getting on the practice field because of various injuries,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “All of that we have to weigh with how much of that has impacted him for the future as well as where he is in his career and with his age.
“Those are the ingredients in the stew. Now we’ve got to stir it up and see where we’re going. It will be a very difficult call for us because of how much salary cap he uses.”
