The New York Knicks were disappointingly quiet at the trade deadline, as they added absolutely no one and instead bought out more players than they initially brought on. Since then, the team has signed some names to replace Beno Udrih and Metta World Peace, but the Knicks lack of success at the deadline apparently wasn’t for a lack of trying.
We all knew about the talks with the Los Angeles Clippers that went right up to the deadline, but there were some trade pursuits that have flown under the radar — most likely because they didn’t happen. According to John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com, the Knicks tried to dump Raymond Felton on the Orlando Magic in exchange for Jameer Nelson.
#Magic made no trades at deadline. Sometimes best trades are ones you don't make, like NYK trying to unload Raymond Felton on them 4 Jameer.

It was indeed a wise move for the Magic to not sell low on Nelson as Felton has since been arrested and charged with a gun crime in New York and could be looking at serious prison time. Nelson staying in Orlando made sense, since the indications where they wanted to keep him, but like Denton mentioned, the best trades are sometimes the ones you don’t make.
