In the recent weeks, there has been plenty of discussion about whether or not the San Francisco 49ers are committed to head coach Jim Harbaugh. It all began with a report that the Cleveland Browns were close to trading for Harbaugh and we then learned that there is some belief San Francisco may need to choose between their head coach and general manager Trent Ballke in the not too distant future.

As far as legendary head coach and commentator John Madden is concerned, the 49ers should choose Harbaugh if they are forced to do so.

“You tell me where they’re going to get a guy that’s any better than him?” Madden said on KCBS. “It’s a lot easier to get a suit than it is to get a coach.”

Madden is right, but it also isn’t easy to find a suit who is a good football mind and can manage a successful team as well as Baalke has done during his tenure with the team.

The best case scenario for the 49ers would be to have everything work out and not be forced to make a decision, so we will have to see how it all plays out.
