Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson is spending his time at the moment with the Texas Rangers, who drafted him in the Rule 5 draft and invited him to Spring Training. While he’s not actively participating, nor trying to earn a roster spot, Wilson is nonetheless at Rangers camp and is heeling to motivate the team.
Johnny Manziel — the king of showing up places for the sake of showing up places — wasn’t about to be outdone by some Super Bowl winning quarterback who paved the way for him to be considered a No. 1 pick. Manziel showed up at Boston Red Sox Spring Training this week, as he’s already begun his lifestyle of being an NFL quarterback showing up places without actually yet being an NFL quarterback.
The appearance wasn’t as selfish as it seems, as Manziel was simply appearing as part of his new deal with Fenway Sports Management. That doesn’t seem whole lot better, but it’s not as bad as Manziel showing up to spite Russell Wilson which is an idea that many people may have had upon hearing the news he showed up at Sox camp.
