The Pittsburgh Steelers slapped outside linebacker Jason Worilds with the transition tag coming off of the best season of his career and just before he was set to hit the free agent market.
According to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com, Worilds has wasted no time signing his transition tag offer that will pay him $9.754 million in 2014.
It is an interesting decision by Worilds to sign his tag so early on in the process while he could have at least waited for the “legal tampering” period to begin, but it does show he is dedicated to the team and he may have the belief that a long-term deal is coming his way.
We will have to see how it all plays out over the next few weeks, but at least Steelers fans can feel comfortable knowing that one of their top young pass rushers will be returning.
