A month ago, Champ Bailey finally had his shot at a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Denver Broncos. While he could get another shot at that elusive ring, it probably won’t be with Denver as the team has decided to release the veteran cornerback and future Hall of Famer, Jason La Canfora reports.
The Broncos will be releasing CB Champ Bailey, according to an NFL source. He was set to earn $9M this season with a cap # of $10M

With moving Bailey, the Broncos now clear themselves about $10 million in cap room which will most certainly come in handy in the near future as free agency hits. However, La Canfora also says that this release was a last resort almost as the two sides did discuss various options to keep him with the team.
Bailey's release does not come as a surprise, though the sides did discuss other alternatives. Denver creates $10M in cap room with the move

Most likely, the team won’t be bringing back Bailey at a reduced price, so anyone that is in the market for a veteran defensive back is now in luck.
