NFL Rumors: Tennessee Titans, Chris Johnson contract talks at a stand still
By Jack Crosby
As the contract talks between the Tennessee Titans and running back Chris Johnson continue to drag on this offseason, most people don’t believe that he’ll be in a Titans uniform come next season. Really the only scenario that would bring him back to the Music City at this point would be for him to take a pay cut, which seems highly unlikely, and Johnson didn’t seem too confident in speaking about the recent talks.
Due $8 million, you would certainly think that the Titans could find a lot better things to do with that cash than give it to a running back that’s entering the second half of his career, more or less.
In the past, these two have had a hard time coming to terms on a deal, but with Johnson a little bit older this time around, you would have to believe that the team wouldn’t necessarily be heartbroken to see him walk away.
