The Detroit Lions have not been hiding the fact that they will be searching for a No. 2 wide receiver this offseason to complement star wideout Calvin Johnson in the offense, but it appears that they have their eye one one of the top prospects at the position since Megatron.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Lions are very interested in adding Watkins, but they will have to do some work in order to make the move happen.

While the Lions would have to pull off a trade much like the Atlanta Falcons when they went after Julio Jones, it would be worth it to give the team one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL.

Covering Calvin Johnson is hard enough, but having another stud option on the outside could make their passing attack virtually unstoppable.

It is scary to imagine Johnson and Watkins lining up and challenging opposing defensive backfields moving forward, but it looks like an option the Lions are considering and it could turn out to be a very realistic possibility.
