The San Francisco 49ers are ready to let cornerback Tarell Brown test the waters in free agency. When asked if he had heard from the 49ers Brown said he had heard nothing.

"When asked if he’s been in talks with the 49ers, Brown responded to CSNBayArea.com on Thursday morning, “Nothing.”It does not mean that Brown will not return to the 49ers. But it does mean he will likely have an opportunity to see if other teams place more value on his services than the 49ers."
Though this seems like it could be some jockeying for leverage, because there was a report Wednesday that the 49ers were making a push to sign him before free agency begins.
