Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis is looking for a deal in excess of the one Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes signed. The 3o-year-old Grimes just signed a four-year deal worth $32 million, an average of $8 million a year.
Davis is also five years younger.
From the Indianapolis Star:
On another note, many assuming Vontae Davis in line for deal a bit under Brent Grimes. He's actually aiming higher. He's 25 yrs old

That really shouldn't surprise anyone in my opinion. Not saying he will or won't get that, but not a shocker he'd ask

Davis played well in 2013 and graded out as a top three cornerback by Pro Football Focus, so asking is warranted. Like Holder says, it doesn’t mean he will get it but setting the asking price high is a common tactic in any negotiation. What could work against Davis on the open market is the availability of Aqib Talib and Alterraun Verner.
