HIGH FIVE/low five
Daily Fantasy can be quite the grind! Let us do the grinding for you with “High Five/Low Five”. Each day we help put you in the money by presenting you with FIVE of the “top-tier” plays, as well as a quick list of FIVE “value plays”. New Orleans Pelicans’ SG Tyreke Evans flies high as Sunday’s top Daily Fantasy Basketball play.
Let’s rip it up.
HIGH FIVE:
Point Guard: Ty Lawson, DEN ($8,700): Lawson has averaged better than 50 FPs per game since his return from a heel injury three games ago.
Tonight, he and the Nuggets take on a New Orleans Pelicans team that ranks just 23rd in recent weeks at defending opposing PGs. With an over/under of 214 and a spread of just three, Lawson should not only have plenty of opportunity to produce due to pace, but should be counted on heavily to produce as the catalyst of the offense in a close game. Expect 40-50 FPs.
Also heavily consider, Rajon Rondo, BOS ($7,500), who should have no problem reaching value for a great price in a terrific matchup vs. the Detroit Pistons.
Shooting Guard: Tyreke Evans, NO ($7,200): Evans has been on a roll since taking over the starting gig in New Orleans, and though his price has risen, it’s still lower than it should be given that he’s been producing above value on a consistent basis. As such, he’s nearly a must play and should be the most widely owned player across the industry tonight in a plus matchup against a Denver Nuggets team that ranks just 23rd against the SF position that Evans actually plays. Expect value (36 FPs) at least.
Small Forward: Wilson Chandler, DEN ($5,600): Chandler has benefited greatly since the return of Ty Lawson, scoring over 30 FPs in each game since. With a value threshold of just 28 FPs tonight, Chandler should be able to get near that in what should be a high scoring and closely contested contest.
Power Forward: LaMarcus Aldridge, POR ($9,300): With a 57.9 FP performance, Aldridge made his return to top-tier performance last game vs. the Dallas Mavericks. That performance should give you the confidence to roster Aldridge in a matchup in a high scoring game vs. a Houston Rockets defense that ranks just 27th vs. PFs. 45-50 FPs seems like a safe bet.
Center: Dwight Howard, HOU ($9,100): Howard has absolutely owned the Trail Blazers this season and that should continue again tonight. Portland ranks just 22nd in recent weeks vs. centers and Howard has been on a tear of late. Given his past success vs. Portland, coupled with the recent performances by both he and Portland’s defense, this seems like a perfect storm for Howard to get 45-50 FPs.

low five:
Point Guard: Brian Roberts, NO ($4,900): Maybe more of a tourney play, but I think Roberts can get you 20 or so FPs tonight in a high scoring matchup vs. a Denver Nuggets’ squad that ranks in the bottom third of the league against PGs.
Shooting Guard: Terrence Ross, TOR ($4,400): Terrence Ross actually plays SF for the Toronto Raptors, which bodes well for him this evening. His opponent, the Minnesota Timberwolves rank just 28th at defending the SF, which should give Ross a good chance at hitting the 22 FPs he’ll need to reach value tonight.
Small Forward: Kyle Singler, DET ($4,600): Singler will need 23 FPs to reach value tonight in a matchup against a Boston Celtics team that ranks 19th and 26th against the two positions that Singler is most likely to see time at (SG,SF)
Power Forward: Reggie Evans, SAC ($3,800): Evans has scored over 20 FPs in each of the last three games playing over 25 minutes a game. I’m thinking he comes to play tonight in a game against his former team and gets at least the 19 he’ll need to reach value.
Center: Timofey Mozgov, DEN ($4,000): Mozgov has been starting for Denver, and even though he’s not been getting typical starter’s minutes, he has (with few exceptions) been producing at a FP/minute clip. So, given even 20 minutes, Mozgov should be able to produce the 20 FPs needed in a high scoring matchup vs. a Pelicans’ defense that has been abysmal over the last few weeks against centers.
Thank you and good luck tonight !!!
