While the Carolina Panthers try to figure out who they can afford to bring back in their secondary, the team is scoping out possible free agent targets to fill some holes. The Carolina defense wa a point of pride in 2013 and adding veteran talent to a young squad seems to make a ton of sense, and that’s why Charles Tillman may wind up in Carolina.

According to Chicago Bears beat writer Brad Biggs, if Tillman doesn’t find his way back to Chicago this offseason, he may end up landing with the Panthers in Carolina.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also showing interest in Tillman thanks to the Lovie Smth connection, but it appears another NFC South team may be on the prowl for Tillman.

He’s not a lock to leave the Bears, so all of this could prove to be useless banter, but the Panthers make sense for Tillman and the conversation has clearly been started.
