The Chicago Bears would love to bring back quarterback Josh McCown for another season but it appears that they’re going to have rather stiff competition in doing so. We knew that McCown was in vogue, but with free agency set to kick off, three teams have become finalists to land the services of the backup quarterback.

According to Oakland Raiders beat writer Vic Tafur, the Raiers have a shot at signing McCown but the team is under the impression that the Bears and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are battling it out to acquire McCown’s services.

Oakland has been mentioned with more than a few quarterbacks from McCown to Mark Sanchez and Josh Freeman. They may make a push for Matt Schaub if he’s released by the Houston Texans but they’d love to get they hands on McCown.

That doesn’t seem likely at this point though and the Raiders will ave to look elsewhere in free agency and the draft to fill that particular need.
