While their division foes couldn’t find a trade partner for Darrelle Revis before having to cut him, the New Orleans Saints have not encountered the sam pitfall when it comes to trading away Darren Sproles.

According to Adam Schefter from ESPN and Jason La Canfora from CBSSports, the Saints have traded Darren Sproles to the Philadelphia Eagles.

This was one of the destinations that Sproles could have ended up at as his speed, size and versatility seem to fit Chip Kelly’s offensive schemes. He was dangerous in San Diego, even more lethal in New Orleans and there’s hope among Eagles fans that Sproles will become even more of a threat with Nick Foles and company.

As for the Saints, they get a minor return on a guy they were going to cut anyways which can be viewed as a win. They’re losing one of Drew Brees’ best weapons though and their replacement plan had better be a good one.
