Steve Smith was not tickled by the Carolina Panthers releasing him on Thursday morning after giving blood, sweat and tears to the team since 2001. There aren’t many guys as fiery as Smith and few want to be on the wrong side of him on Sundays, and the Panthers are now on the wrong side of him.

Smith spoke on a local Charlotte radio station shortly after his release and gave a little preview of what kind of violence we can expect when the Panthers and Smith cross paths again.

It’s the first major storyline we can all universally look forward to and it’s one that could get very relevant in 2014 if the Baltimore Ravens indeed sign Smith. Should that happen, the Ravens have the NFC South on their schedule this year which means the Panthers would be traveling to Baltimore to play the Ravens and Steve Smith.
