On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a a deal with former New Orleans Saints’ linebacker Will Herring.
Herring even tweeted about the deal, saying good-bye to the Saints and expressing his excitement about joining the Cowboys.
Less than 24 hours later, the deal is off, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.
"The Dallas Cowboys will not be signing linebacker Will Herring, according to sources.Herring had agreed to a one-year deal Thursday but both sides agreed to walk away, which keeps Herring as a free agent. Because Herring never signed the deal, the team never made an announcement. A source said it was not related to a failed physical."
Last season, Herring, playing mostly special teams, had 13 tackles and one interception.
