NFL Rumors: Darian Stewart to visit the Carolina Panthers
By David Miniel
The Carolina Panthers lost veteran corner-back Captain Munnerlyn to the Minnesota Vikings but were able to pick up former New Orleans Saint Roman Harper.
They were able to lock up Harper for at least two years and could possibly be looking to add another piece to their secondary. According to Jim Thomas on Twitter, the Carolina Panthers and free agent safety Darian Stewart had a meeting scheduled for Monday.
Carolina could still bring him in, show him around and see what he’s asking for. Harper was signed today by the Panthers, but Stewart’s visit hasn’t been cancelled just yet so I’m sure he’s still planning on making a good impression in hopes of walking away with a contract.
Stewart finished the 2013 with only 36 combined tackles. His biggest season came back in 2011 where he recorded 84 tackles, three sacks and an interception.
