There’s one thing I love about sports, and that happens to be the free agency period. Division rivals pick up guys who have competed against them for at least two games a year for a couple of years, allowing them to seek revenge on the team who let them go in the first place.
Now the New Orleans Saints are currently looking to pick up a fullback considering they don’t have a single one on their roster. They refused to tender Jed Collins, so they’re hoping to pick up another veteran via free agency.
According to Adam Caplan on Twitter, the New Orleans Saints hosted free agent fullback Erik Lorig.
Lorig is a former seventh round pick out of Stanford by the Buccaneers back in 2010. He’s recorded only 30 receptions for 193 yards and one touchdown in his career.
He started nine games last year but played in 15 in his final year with the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay would like to re-sign him because of his versatility as a tight end, but New Orleans could flash a couple extra dollars in his face in order to bring him on board.
