Less than two weeks ago, on March 4, the Houston Rockets held off a late rally to defeat the two-time defending NBA Champion Miami Heat.

After the game, Rockets’ point guard Patrick Beverley received a lot of praise for his style of play. In that particular game, Beverley had 19 points on six-of-12 shooting, recorded three steals, grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists and blocked a shot. Plus, his hustle plays helped energize the Rockets and win those always important 50-50 balls.

In fact, Beverley played so well that Heat guard Dwyane Wade admitted that he and LeBron James wanted the Heat to keep Beverley back in 2010Ā before the Heat released him.

ā€œNot surprised when it comes to his mentality,ā€ Wade said. ā€œHe’s a tough kid. You know he works.ā€

The Heat are currently playing host to the Rockets and Beverley, although lacking big numbers, tried to steal the show again with a dunk in the second quarter.

Beverley brings the ball up, dribbles by James and throws down a huge dunk on Heat big men Chris Bosh and Chris ā€œBirdmanā€ Andersen just before the first half comes to a close.
