Less than two weeks ago, on March 4, the Houston Rockets held off a late rally to defeat the two-time defending NBA Champion Miami Heat.
After the game, Rocketsā point guard Patrick Beverley received a lot of praise for his style of play. In that particular game, Beverley had 19 points on six-of-12 shooting, recorded three steals, grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists and blocked a shot. Plus, his hustle plays helped energize the Rockets and win those always important 50-50 balls.
In fact, Beverley played so well that Heat guard Dwyane Wade admitted that he and LeBron James wanted the Heat to keep Beverley back in 2010Ā before the Heat released him.
āNot surprised when it comes to his mentality,ā Wade said. āHeās a tough kid. You know he works.ā
The Heat are currently playing host to the Rockets and Beverley, although lacking big numbers, tried to steal the show again with a dunk in the second quarter.
Beverley brings the ball up, dribbles by James and throws down a huge dunk on Heat big men Chris Bosh and Chris āBirdmanā Andersen just before the first half comes to a close.
