Powe is very familiar with current Texans’ defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel from his days in Kansas City.

Powe was originally selected with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Chiefs. The former Mississippi Rebel played in just one game as a rookie and in nine games in his second season. In 2013, he was released by the Chiefs before the season, re-signed in December, released again and re-signed again.
Powe made two tackles and one sack in two games last season.
