Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen was headed to Seattle for a second visit with the Seahawks. Many misinterpreted Ed Werder’s report as Allen was signing with Seattle, but his agent says they have to deliberate and weigh their offers to make a decision, from teams besides the Seahawks.
From ESPN:
"Ken Harris, who represents Allen, indicated the player had more than just Seattle’s offer to deliberate before making a commitment. The only other team Allen is known to have visited was the Dallas Cowboys, who signed defensive tackle Henry Melton earlier this week. Sources indicated that the Cowboys were not interested in also signing Allen unless he lowered his contract demands."
“We are heading home and will consider their offer and I’ll make my decision this weekend,” Allen said in a text message.
Allen has also said he would retire if he didn’t get a deal he liked, if the deals he are weighing are the Seahawks and the Cowboys, Dallas likely won’t meet his desired financial terms due to their tight cap situation.
