The New York Jets officially released former fifth overall selection Mark Sanchez in a move that had been anticipated for months.
Now the question becomes where will Sanchez call home in 2014?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Josh McCown and the Houston Texans traded for Matt Schaub, eliminating two potential destinations for player who helped lead the Jets to back-t0-back AFC Championship Game appearances his first two seasons in the NFL.
However, one team that makes sense for Sanchez is the Buffalo Bills, according to Jason LaCanfora.
The Bills drafted E.J. Manuel in the first round last season to be the teamās quarterback of the future, but the backup spots are occupied by Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis who were forced to start last season after injuries to Manuel.
The Bills only threw 16 touchdowns last season with 15 interceptions, so Sanchez certainly could come in and compete for playing time and at the very least push Manuel to be the player Buffalo hopes he can be after they made him the only quarterback taken in the first round last year.
