While the majority of the mainstream attention will be on Johnny Manziel on Thursday, it shouldn’t be ignored that Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans will also be showing off his attributes for the personnel in attendance. Two teams that are definitely not ignoring this are the New York Jets and the Detroit Lions, both of whom will have a strong presence at the event in the hopes that they’ll have their minds made up for them.

NFL.com is reporting that among those that will be in attendance representing the Lions, who hold the 10th overall pick, will be new head coach Jim Caldwell and general manager Martin Mayhew.

"The Detroit Lions’ interest in Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans figures to take a turn in one direction or another Thursday as coach Jim Caldwell and general manager Martin Mayhew will both be on hand for Evans’ pro day workout at the Aggies’ indoor practice facility."

If anything, Detroit seems like the most likely option for Evans at this point. It’s widely believed that Sammy Watkins will be the first wide receiver off the board come May, and he may be gone well before the 10th pick, leaving Evans there for the taking to pair him up with Matthew Stafford, and opposite Calvin Johnson.

The Jets, on the other hand, will be a long shot, but there is always the possibility to trade up and grab Evans if they really enjoy what they see on Thursday.
