Daily Fantasy Basketball: Top Plays for Tuesday, April 1st
By John Hillier
HIGH FIVE/low five
Daily Fantasy can be quite the grind! Let us do the grinding for you with “High Five/Low Five”. Each day, we help put you in the money by presenting you with FIVE “top-tier” plays, as well as some of the top “value plays”. Portland Trail Blazers’ PF LaMarcus Aldridge flies high as Tuesday’s top play.
Let’s rip it up.
HIGH FIVE:
Point Guard: Damian Lillard, POR ($7,400): Lillard has seen a dip in his production since LaMarcus Aldridge has returned, but never fear, the Los Angeles Lakers are near. As should be well-known by now, the Lakers are one of the league worst teams at defending PGs. This game also features one of the higher point totals on the night, and if Vegas’ predictions are correct, should be competitive enough that everyone gets their normal minutes. With his normal amount of run, I could see 35 FPs from Lillard, maybe more.
Deron Williams, BKN ($7,200) should also be considered. He has a plus matchup vs. Jeremy Lin and should be playing up from his normal pace.
Value Plays: Shaun Livingston, BKN ($4,700)/Mo Williams, POR ($4,300)
Shooting Guard: James Harden, HOU ($9,700): Harden will likely be the top scorer at the SG position. Dwight Howard‘s absence has Harden taking on an increased role within the Houston offense, as evidenced by his recent point totals. The Brooklyn Nets are in the league’s bottom third vs. SGs recently. The increased offensive role, along with a plus matchup, should allow Harden to get 45 FPs or so.
Also consider: Joe Johnson, BKN ($6,100)
Value Plays: Wesley Matthews, POR ($5,400)/Kent Bazemore, LAL ($5,000)
Small Forward: Nicolas Batum, POR ($7,200): It’s a three game slate, excuse me if I recommend every Trail Blazers’ starter.
Also consider, Chandler Parsons, HOU ($6,900) and Paul Pierce, BKN ($5,400)
Value Play: Draymond Green, GS ($4,600): Green should get big minutes again, with David Lee out. Value is just 23 FPs and should be surpassed. Expect 25+ FPs.
Power Forward: LaMarcus Aldridge, POR ($9,400): The Lakers can’t defend the paint and they can’t rebound. LaMarcus Aldridge scores and rebounds as well as anyone in the NBA. Value is a bit high at 47 FPs, but with anything close to normal minutes, Aldridge should be good for 40+ FPs at minimum, with 50 FP upside.
Also consider, Dirk Nowitzki, DAL ($7,700) against a Golden State Warriors’ squad that will be without David Lee.
Value Plays: Andray Blatche, BKN ($4,800): Houston is bad against PFs as it is, and should be worse if Terrence Jones is out.
Also consider, Donatas Motiejunas, HOU ($3,700), if Terrence Jones is out.
Center: Omer Asik, HOU ($4,600): Bet you thought I was going to say Robin Lopez, huh ? I still think Lopez makes a fine play against the Lakers, but you can only roster four players from a single team, and he’ll be the one I leave out most often. Instead, I’ll be putting my money on Asik, who has played well in Dwight Howard’s absence.
Also consider: Samuel Dalembert, DAL ($4,900)
Thank you and good luck !!!
