Why NFL Playoffs Expansion is a Bad Idea

Using it as an excuse to eliminate 2 preseason games

It looks like as long as the NFLPA can have a voice in the matter, the NFL will never expand to an 18-game regular season schedule. The NFL owners have been pushing for the 18-game regular season schedule for a few years now as a way to eliminate, or just move to the regular season, two of the preseason games for which they ridiculously and shamefully charge their season ticket holders full price for.

If they can expand the playoffs by one or two teams and one or two games, they can get even more revenue from those games and may finally be willing to part with 2 meaningless exhibition games they can’t seem to stop over charging for.

As if the NFL owners are going to go into the poor-house if they ever just decided to take it upon themselves to stop screwing their own season ticket holders by charging them full price for horrendous preseason games.
