2014 NFL Free Agency: Denver Broncos sign Will Montgomery
The Denver Broncos have to make a few moves along their offensive line.
With guard Zane Beadles moving on to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Broncos need a replacement.
According to Jeff Legwold of ESPN’s NFL Nation, the Broncos have signed center Will Montgomery.
According to Mike Klis of The Denver Post, it is a one-year deal worth “around $1.3 million.”
Montgomery, who was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 234th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2006 Draft, could be in the mix to help make up for the loss.
“We’re going to try a lot of things and guys are going to work at multiple spots,” Broncos’ head coach John Fox said last week. “We want to be ready to do what we need to do, like I’ve said you only take seven guys into a game for five spots, if something happens there is about three different re-coils for that.”
Montgomery played for the New York Jets in 2007 and 2008 and has been with the Washington Redskins since.
