Do Some Draft Homework

With meaningful football games still months away, it’s hard to find things to fill that void and feed your football addiction. One of my favorite pass times this time of year is studying draft prospects that I think my favorite team may look at in the draft next month.

Due to the wonders of YouTube it is now easier than ever to see these prospects in action. While a typical “highlight” video can be good to get you interested in a player, they don’t really show you the entire picture.

Since most fans don’t have time or the means to sit around and watch hours of college game film to scout them, a handful of film junkies have made it so that you don’t have to.

There are several people out there that go through these college games and cut them down to only the plays that a prospect was involved in and put them all back to back. So you can watch a players entire game in one six minute youtube video. It’s a fantastic way to scout out a player in a short amount of time.

You can usually find some of these videos simply by doing a YouTube search for the prospects name. That will lead you to videos titled things like “Blake Bortles vs Baylor 2014 Fiesta Bowl”. A couple of good people to subscribe to on Youtube for these videos are “Nick Page” and “JPDraftJedi”. Not only will you be more knowledgeable about the draft picks in the coming draft, but it involves actually watching football, which is what we’re all really missing right now.
